It is tradition for me to write a little about each EP... so here is the background to my latest EP '
Magic and Midnight', which I am very proud of! The general inspiration was fairy tales (which I love).
Another Cinderella
The song name was obviously inspired by the tale of 'Cinderella'. This was the first song I wrote for the EP. 'Another' here really means many, there are many 'Cinderellas' dreaming of being a princess, or hoping to be in a different situation. Also it represents someone simply following their dreams. This is a form of magic in itself.
Charm Me
The title name came initially from 'Prince Charming'. But the song is based on the general idea of being charmed by someone who then doesn't commit. We've all been there right?! There are 'Cinderella' references in this song too.
Swan Someday
This song was inspired by the tale of 'The Ugly Duckling'. The song name was also inspired by the character 'Emma Swan'. I think many can relate to the story of 'The Ugly Duckling' - I know I can. In a similar theme to the 'magic' in 'Another Cinderella', here the 'magic' comes from learning that you are beautiful in real life.
Little Love
The name of this song was inspired by my kitten, who was little at the time but gave so much love. This song is about small gestures making big differences, continuing the theme of 'magic' in real life. Love can transform a day.
